The fourth episode of CanPlastics TV, the first regularly scheduled news videos with a plastics focus available in North America, has now been released.

In this episode, we take you to the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) annual awards banquet, where the association honoured six industry veterans for their accomplishments and their contributions to the plastics industry on May 21 in Toronto.

Sajjad Ebrahim, president of thermoplastic packager Par-Pak Ltd. of Brampton, Ont., has been given the Leader of the Year Award. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Robert Krycki, founder and president of Mississauga, Ont.-based flexible packaging machinery supplier Future Design Inc.; and Gilles Plante, president of Poly Expert, a Montreal-based extruder of polyethylene films.

The association also presented Canplast Awards to Miguel Petrucci, president of Woodbridge, Ont.-based Compact Mould, chair of the CPIA Mould Makers Council and a member of the CPIA board of directors; John Zadro, president of Structural Glass of Winnipeg, chair of the CPIA’s Composites Council and a CPIA board member; and Marion Axmith, a 25 year veteran of CPIA and the SPI Canada, and who currently serves as Director General of the Vinyl Council.
