The Canadian government has given Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que.-based thermoformer Les plastiques Qualiplast Inc. $115,000 in repayable funding for the acquisition of new equipment.
The company intends to use this newly acquired equipment to increase the performance of its operations by eliminating production bottlenecks.
The contribution was awarded through the Canada Economic Development Business and Regional Growth program, an initiative aimed at strengthening conditions conducive to the sustainable growth of Quebec’s regions and small and medium-sized enterprises.
“In addition to helping Les plastiques Qualiplast better meet product demand and stand up to the competition, this project will result in the creation of manufacturing jobs in the area,” said Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for LotbinireChutes-de-la-Chaudire. “It will also serve to foster the diversification and consolidation of the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield industrial base, an objective shared by the region’s economic stakeholders at large.”
