ExxonMobil Chemical has announced plans to increase capacity at its Pensacola, FL manufacturing plant in order to meet growing demand for polymers used in Santoprene thermoplastic vulcanizate. Exxonmobil expects to have a complete new production line at the site operational by 2006.
"This expansion demonstrates Exxonmobil Chemical’s ongoing commitment to the elastomers business," said Mary Ahner, vice president, ethylene elastomers, ExxonMobil. "It allows us to meet the growing demand for these innovative, high-quality products."
ExxonMobil Chemical offers customers a portfolio of elastomer-related products, including Vistalon EPDM (conventional and metallocene catalylized), Exxelor modifiers, Vistama specialty elastomers and Exact plastomers.
Santoprene is manufactured by Advanced Elastomer Systems, L.P., a division of Exxon Mobil Corp.
