Clariant installs more compounding lines for Canadian operations

Global color concentrate supplier Clariant Masterbatches continues to consolidate its position in Canada. A second capacity expansion is planned for the Toronto facility this year, in addition to expansions which are currently coming onstream at both its Delta, BC, and Toronto facilities.
Combined, the two new lines will increase capacity at the Toronto masterbatches facility by about 40%. Dragos Gavriluta, vice-president/general manager of Clariant Masterbatches Canada, says the added capacity will allow Clariant pursue new business, while improving lead time and service levels.
Being a global supplier, Clariant has access to a broad knowledge base for R&D and technical support. As well, the company has a strong portfolio of masterbatches for commodity and engineering resins, plus additives and chemical foaming agents.
