The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. (Washington, DC) has announced its president Donald K. Duncan will retire as the association’s staff leader in the first quarter of 2005. The association has formed a search committee and will use the services of an executive search firm to find a successor.
Duncan joined SPI staff in 2000, after a brief retirement from DuPont.
"Don’s industry background made him a frequent, strong voice for the plastics industry in the press,” said SPI executive board chairman Paul Appelblom. "As someone who spent his entire career in our industry, he also was able to play a key role in SPI’s issues management efforts."
Among Duncan’s achievements are the association’s financial stability, successful trade shows and the recently opened plastics exhibit at the Walt Disney World resort in Florida.
