If you plan to exhibit at the Plast-Ex 2011 trade show, you’d better act fast: Over 35 per cent of floor space has already been sold for the event.

The show will take place June 21-23 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Originally scheduled for 2010, Plast-Ex was pushed back after having been acquired from the Canadian Plastics Industry Association by Canon Communications in October 2009.

The show is also being co-located with five other trade events: PACKEX, Automation Technology Expo (ATX) Canada, Design & Manufacturing Canada, Process Technology/Powder Bulk Solid (PTX/PBS) Canada, and Green Manufacturing Expo Canada.

According to Tom Sockett, event manager for Plast-Ex with Canon, the added value of a co-located event should make the show a good investment for exhibitors. “For the same amount of time and resources an exhibitor expends participating in a single trade show, they now increase their value and opportunities by a factor of five,” he told Canadian Plastics. “Co-located shows like Plast-Ex 2011 provide tremendous crossover sales and business development benefits for everyone participating.”

On a related note, the date for the next Expoplast trade show in Montreal has been set for November 14-15, in the Palais des congres. The Expoplast event was also acquired by Canon in October 2009, and – like the Plast-Ex event – the upcoming version will be a co-located event. “At this time, we know it will be Expoplast and the MEDTEC medical manufacturing show,” Sockett added. “The rest of the line-up will be announced later.”
