After four years, Plast-Ex is back.

The three-day trade show begins on June 21 at the Toronto Congress Centre, and runs until June 23.

There’ve been changes since the last show, which was held in 2007. The Great Recession and come and (hopefully) gone; Plast-Ex, meanwhile, is now owned by business-to-business media conglomerate UMB Canon.

Also, the show is being co-located with a slew of other trade events this time around: Design & Manufacturing Canada, Pack-Ex Toronto, the Automotive Technology Expo Canada, the Green Manufacturing Expo Canada, and Process Technology for Industry Canada/Powder & Bulk Solids Canada.

And while the big draws are going to be the technologies, the exhibitors, and the networking opportunities, the organizers have also scheduled a series of conferences, seminars, awards luncheons and dinners, and other after-hours events.

“This is a brand new show; it will benefit from the co-location with the other six shows, and won’t feel or operate anything like previous versions of Plast-Ex,” said Tom Sockett, event manager with Canon. “Canon brings a lot of resources and experience to the event, and one result of this is that we’re looking for attendance from the U.S. at a level we’ve never seen before.”

Canadian Plastics will be bringing you any news updates from the show as they happen, as well as a full wrap-up after the dust has settled – so check back regularly.
