Calgary, Alta-based Nova Chemicals has announced that Christopher D. (Chris) Pappas, president and CEO of the company, will retire effective December 31, 2009. Nova’s Board of Directors expects to announce a new CEO in the coming months. The company has also announced that Todd D. Karran has been appointed as chief financial officer (CFO), succeeding Larry MacDonald. 

Stock shape supplier Quantum Polymers, of Newark, Del., has appointed John Jarrett, of Jarrett Plastics Inc. in Clarence Center, N.Y., as its sales representative in Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick; and Al Weymiller and Ed Moore, of Plastics Northwest in Seattle, as its sales representatives for western Canada.
