BASF has appointed Laurent Tainturier as president of BASF Canada, effective March 1, 2009. Laurent will be administratively responsible for all businesses in Canada, including Chemicals and Plastics.

Brampton, Ont.’s L.V. Lomas Limited has named Jeff Bauman to the position of technical sales representative, specialty business unit in Western Canada, and Tom Mouharemis to the position of sales manager, filtration. Bauman joined L.V. Lomas with a wide range of experience in technical sales, having worked for companies such as General Fasteners and Pro-Western Plastics. Mouharemis joins L.V. Lomas with over 25 years experience selling filters to all markets.

Nisku, Alta.-based Wood Composite Technologies Inc. has announced that Michael Greenwood has resigned from the company’s board of directors. “On behalf of the rest of Wood Composite’s board of directors, we would like to thank Michael for his strong support of the company,” the board chairperson said in a statement.
