Cytec Canada Inc. and Cytec Industries Inc. have appointed Stochem Inc. (Brampton, Ont.) as their Canadian distributor for polymer additives. Cytec trade names include Cyasorb, Cyanox and Cyastat. Stochem has also been appointed Canadian distributor of polymer additive products from Condea Servo LLC. The product line includes products used by thermoset plastics formulators.

G.A. Foss Transport has opened a new facility on CN Rail in Cornwall, Ont. to better serve its customers in Quebec and the Maritimes. Foss, headquartered in Concord, Ont., provides bulk transfer services for plastic resins. “The demand by customers to service cities such as Montreal and Quebec City especially brought about this expansion,” says Foss sales manager Al Neilly.

Cimatron Technologies Inc., a developer of CAD/CAM software for the tooling industry, is expanding in Canada and making a push to increase its business in the U.S. market. The company relocated its headquarters, encompassing administration and marketing staff, to Livonia, MI recently, but maintains technical support staff at its former headquarters in Burlington, Ont. KoSa (Houston, TX), a global polyester producer, has agreed to purchase Celanese AG’s polyester operations in Millhaven, Ont. The Millhaven facility produces 160,000 tonnes of PET per year. “Expansion is a possibility,” says Kedar Bryan, a spokesperson for KoSa, but plans to phase out the production of “staple” polyester for textiles will continue. William A. “Bill” Every has been appointed site manager for the Millhaven site.
