Specialty chemical manufacturer Cytec Industries has begun production of high-solids acrylic polyol and water-based acrylics at its Langley, S.C., plant.
The production of Macrynal high-solids acrylic polyols and Viacryl water-based acrylics will expand Cytec’s position in low-volatile organic compounds (VOC) and hazardous air pollutants-free products, the company said.
“[The addition of the products in the Americas] is in response to the growing market needs for resins, which can help companies meet the new VOC regulations,” Tom Kelly, Cytec business director, liquid-coating resins, said.
Headquarted in West Patterson, N.J., Cytec reported 2005 sales of approximately US$ 3 billion. The company has Canadian locations in Markham and Niagara Falls, Ont., and in Brossard, Que.
