Van Dorn Demag Corp. and Demag Ergotech GmbH have announced an alliance that will combine their North American sales, marketing and service functions. "This time around, things will be different," promises William Carteaux, president and CEO of Van Dorn Demag.
The two injection molding machine manufacturers have a long history of working together, and have shared resources and technologies to develop machine platforms and controls. Both are subsidiaries of Mannesmann Plastics Machinery AG. The two also had a business relationship in North America in the late 1990s, but the companies’ approaches "were never truly unified". Carteaux says this time there will be a united, cohesive effort in sales, marketing and service.
All Ergotech brands offered in North America will be sold and supported through Van Dorn Demag’s network of sales agencies, including Stephen Sales Group in Canada.
"There is no molding need or injection molding machine technology that cannot be met by what Van Dorn Demag and Demag Ergotech now offer in North America," Carteaux concludes.
