Price jumps for flame retardants

Great Lakes Chemical Corp. has announced a price increase of an average 15% for phosphate ester flame retardants and 10% for a range of brominated flame retardants. The price increase is effective for shipments after April 15.
The company stated that the new pricing is necessary because of rapidly increasing costs of key materials and energy, growing flame retardant end-use demand, and availability concerns for certain key feed stocks.
