BASF will increase prices for its entire line of styrenic copolymer resins in North America by $0.06 per pound, effective May 1, 2004. The action follows two earlier price increases by BASF for these materials. The resins included in the price increase include BASF’s ABS, ASA, ASA/PC, SAN and MABS line of resins.
Said Herman Savenjie, BASF’s director of styrenic copolymers business in North America: "Raw material and energy costs to manufacture styrenic copolymers, as well, as costs to transport these resins to our customers, have gone up substantially for the last 18 months. We foresee no short-term relief from these conditions and must, therefore, implement this price increase."
