Chemtura to improve flame retardant profitability

Middlebury, Conn.-based Chemtura Corp. announced worldwide price increases of some 20-40 per cent on a range of brominated flame retardant grades effective October 1, 2005, where contract allow.
"This price increase is necessary to restore profitability and to better reflect the true value of these products in the high-performance end use applications where they are employed," said Myles Odaniell, executive vice-president of Performance Chemicals in a statement.
