K 2004, which doesn’t officially open until October 20, is open for business online at www.k-online.de. Visitors planning to attend the show in Dusseldorf can purchase their tickets online, and exhibitors can also make booth arrangements through the site.
Stefan Egge, the Canadian representative for show organizer Messe Dusseldorf, says that 230,000 visitors are expected at the show, which runs from Oct. 20-27. As of June, 2763 exhibitors were registered.
Egge works with the Canadian German Chamber of Industry and Commerce Inc., based in Toronto.
Once again, K will have a Canadian pavilion organized by the Canadian Plastics Industry Association, as well as some independent Canadian exhibitors.
Egge notes that K is known to offer a glimpse of the future of the plastics industry. "I believe there are solutions on the floor for next year, and the year after."
More than 60% of the exhibitors at K 2004 are from countries other than Germany. The leading foreign exhibitor nation is Italy with 432 companies, followed by Taiwan with 118, Great Britain with 116, the United States with 112 and Switzerland with 109 exhibitors.
Travel packages to K are offered by Trade Show Travel Services, 877-873-7469.
