Roughly 242,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries attended the K-2007 show in Dusseldorf, Germany, between Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, according to figures compiled by show sponsor Messe Dusseldorf.

At the previous event in 2004, 231,000 visitors attended the show.

There were also more exhibitors at this years event, according to Messe Dusseldorf: 3,130, compared to 2,904 in 2004.

The number of experts to visit K-2007 over the past eight days 11,000 more than at the previous event is in itself proof of the fairs status, said Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, president and CEO of Messe Dusseldorf. Once again, its been made obvious that K is and remains the premier event for the plastics and rubber industry.

The increased attendance came primarily from surges in the number of visitors from Asia, with 7,000 more from that region attending in 2007 than in 2004.

In addition, the number of visitors with top-level decision-making powers was higher than average, Dornscheidt continued, with almost two-thirds of the K visitors in 2007 ranking as top or middle management.
