The K 2013 trade show in October will include a new showcase to spotlight the theme of plastics and mobility.

Called “Plastics move the world”, the show – in Hall 6 of the Messe Dusseldorf fairgrounds in Dusseldorf, Germany – will highlight lightweight materials used in the design of motor vehicles, aircrafts, and ships, and also for electro mobility and individual mobility applications for the disabled.

In addition to presentations, the special show will also feature VIP lectures and daily discussion panels (except for Sunday, October 20 and the last day of the trade fair, October 23) conducted in German or English on alternating days with experts from science and the industry. On the second day of K 2013, Bertrand Piccard, a pioneer in the field of solar-powered aircraft, will present his Solar Impulse project: the craft is currently on its longest mission, crossing the U.S. from San Francisco to New York using only solar energy. In 2015, Piccard plans to complete a non-stop flight around the globe with a solar-powered aircraft.

K 2013 runs from October 16 to October 23.
