Maguire partners with Syncro to develop extrusion control technology

Auxiliary equipment supplier Maguire Products Inc. is partnering with Italy-based Syncro srl, a manufacturer of control technology, to develop new equipment platforms for materials and extrusion control.

Aston, Pa.-based Maguire has also taken an investment position with Syncro that’s designed to facilitate the partnership.

“The strategic partnership and investment from Maguire in Syncro underlines both companies’ commitment to providing more choice for our customers to maximize extrusion efficiency,” said Frank Kavanagh, Maguire vice president of sales and marketing. “Maguire’s experience in materials handling and blending systems combined with Syncro’s extensive range of control options for extrusion will enable customers to use existing equipment from Maguire while easily expanding control elements on both existing and new lines going forward.”

“Powder applications are growing and diversifying from core compounding to other broader areas of extrusion markets that are served by both Maguire and Syncro,” said Syncro CEO Gabriele Caccia. “With this the new partnership we will also be able to offer many more options for customers focused on powder applications, from individual components to complete turnkey solutions.”

Syncro’s product lines cover a range of downstream software and hardware to optimize line control. The company also manufactures gravimetric loss in weight feeders and blenders, air rings, IBC control, cages, and a wide range of gauging systems.

Maguire, which is celebrating the sale this year of the 50,000th Maguire gravimetric blender, manufacturers material handling systems for plastics molding, extrusion, and compounding.
