
Graham Packaging Co. LP. is closing its plastic container plant in Baltimore, Maryland, according to a local news report.
A March 1 news story by the Baltimore Sun claims that York, Pa.-based Graham Packaging will close the plant this year, citing a notice filed by Graham Packaging with the state of Maryland.
Approximately 80 workers will lose their jobs as a result of the closure, the report said, with the first layoffs occurring in April and a second round in June.
Graham Packaging is one of the largest blow molded container makers in North America. The company’s Canadian operations are headquartered in Mississauga, Ont.
