Blow molder Graham Packaging Company has been awarded a Supplier of the Year Award in the packaging category by ketchup manufacturer H.J. Heinz.
The award was given in recognition of Graham Packaging’s ‘Fridge Fit’ plastic consumer ketchup container.
“Graham Packaging won because they exemplify what it means to be a strategic supplier to Heinz,” Steve Burk, senior manager of procurement for Heinz North America, said. “In addition to delivering great quality, the Graham Packaging team has helped us manage our costs in an escalating commodity market and reduce our inventory levels.”
Based in York, Pa., Graham Packaging produces more than 20 billion container units at 87 plants in North America, Europe and South America. The company reported sales of US $2.5 billion in 2005.
