A new stand-up pouch machine from Proven Designs Inc. features servo-actuated sealing, which reduces the number of air cylinders. PDI states this reduction of air-actuated systems reduces noise and reduces the cost associated with maintenance of air cylinders.
The machine uses two independent servo systems for seal bar actuation. The unique reversing action of the servo system allows for dwell time, sealing force and even the cycle distance to be adjusted through the touch-screen interface.
The machine is suitable for production of reclosable stand-up pouches using a single web construction, and can produce traditional two-side and three-side seal pouches with or without reclosable features.
