Cincinnati, Ohio-based flexible packager Ampac Packaging LLC has purchased Floeter Flexible Packaging Group, of Eberdingen, Germany.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The purchased includes manufacturing locations in Eberdingen and Leipzig, Germany; one in New Delhi, India; and one in Chicago, Ill.

We are very excited about Ampac and Floeter joining together, said John Baumann, president and CEO of Ampac. [Floeters] long standing reputation as a frontrunner and technology leader for preformed retort pouches makes the acquisition a perfect next step in our strategic growth plan.

No layoffs have been announced. Floeters CEO, Mark Rapp, will continue as president of Ampacs global pouching division.

With the addition of Floeter, Ampac will operate 14 manufacturing centres in North America, Europe and Asia. The company employs approximately 1,300 people with annual revenues in excess of US$300 million.
