John Galt has taken on the role of president and CEO at Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., in Bolton, Ont. Prior to this appointment Galt was Husky’s vice-president, operations and chief operating officer (COO). Galt succeeds Robert Schad who founded Husky in 1953. Schad will continue to serve as a director and advisor on technology development and strategy.

The Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) held its annual CPIA Golf Classic tournament on Sept. 1, 2005 at the Cardinal Gold Club. Winner of the Low Gross with a 76 shot score was Alan Gardiner, of Min-Chem Canada Inc. Winners in the foursome scramble tournament were Julius Balatoni, of Arkema Canada and team captain, John Sergi with Leer Corp. (Sergi also won for the longest drive of the match), Mark Bartolucci with Hanson Products and Peter Albis with Ipex Inc.

Atul Sharma recently joined the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) as Executive Director for Ontario. Prior to this position, Sharma worked at the provincial government as a senior policy advisor to the Chair of Management Board of Cabinet. He also worked as vice- president, policy development, and chief economist for the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
