Boston Matthews states that its servo-driven saw completely eliminates the need for secondary or off-line cutting of extruded rigid profiles. The new saws feature a servo-driven table, proportional pneumatics and control of the blade rotation. The result is that profile lengths can be cut precisely to within +/- 0.1 percent.

The saws also features storage of recipes specific to individual profiles, enabling fast set-up that is not reliant on operator “tuning”, and ensures that saw is automatically set to the stored running conditions for each profile.

Close tolerance cutting produces significant material savings, which, when combined with improved cut-quality, represents further savings in off-spec or marked production.
