After a year and a half of regulatory wrangling, the EU Commission has approved the acquisition of blow molding machinery manufacturer Sidel by Tetra Laval SA, an affiliate of Tetra Pak.
"We now very much look forward to welcoming Sidel as a separate industry group within Tetra Laval," said Larry Pillard, chairman of the Tetra Laval Group board. "The acquisition will enable us to provide the world’s leading producers of liquid food with state-of-the-art plastics equipment."
Sidel produces PET blow molding machines and filling equipment. Tetra Laval specializes in processing and packaging systems for production and distribution of liquid food (Tetra Pak), and accessories for dairy production (DeLaval).
