Calgary, Alta.-based Nova Chemicals Corporation has named Chris Pappas, formerly senior vice president and COO, as the company’s president and COO effective January 1, 2008. Jeffrey M. Lipton will continue as CEO.

Solvay Advanced Polymers has announced that George Corbin, vice president of technology, will serve as the new president and CEO of the company. He succeeds Roger Kearns, who will move on to another senior leadership role within the company.

Former executive vice president Mart Tiismann has been named president and CEO at Sidel. Tiismann replaces Gerard Stricher,who will continue to assist Tiismann until he retires in April 2008.

Tom Kinisky has been named president of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, succeeding John Crowe. Kinisky will be in charge of the company’s worldwide business, which includes 4,400 employees in 38 plants in 14 countries.

Madison Heights, Mich.-based moldmaker D-M-E Company has named N.S. Krishnakumar to the position of managing director of D-M-E India. Krishnakumar joined the company in March 2006 and was previously the general manager at the India plant.
