The Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) is now accepting nominations for the 2007 CanPlast, Leader of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards.
The awards will be presented at an industry dinner scheduled for Monday, April 30, just prior to the start of the Plast-Ex 2007 trade show, which is being held May 1-3, 2007 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.
The CanPlast Awards, which have been given out on a continuous basis since 1977, are traditionally presented to individuals who have contributed towards the improvement of the Canadian plastics industry and have been active volunteers in association and industry committees, boards and task groups.
Last year’s CanPlast award winners were Keith Malvern, of Exxon Mobile Chemical; Walter Conrad, of DuPont and Industry Canada; Louis Gouron, of Saint-Leonard, Que.-based Les Plastiques Balcan; and Rodney Rourke, of PCL Packaging Corp. in Oakville, Ont.
The recipients of last year’s Leader of the Year award were John Emmerson of Amherst, N.S.-based flexible packager PolyCello, and his sons Bryan and Stephen Emmerson.
Nominations for the 2007 awards should be sent in electronically using the CPIA’s online nomination form, available at www.cpia.ca/awards.
The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, March 9, 2007.
