Don Clarke said in 2000, as he accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award from CPIA, that he wouldn’t really retire from the plastics industry until God called him. That has happened. Clarke died March 24 at the age of 84.
Clarke will be remembered for his commitment to the industry during his 55-year career. In the early days of the industry he sold resin, and then continued to share his technical knowledge during his time with the Canadian Plastics Institute in the later part of his career. In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, Clarke was honored with a CanPlast award from the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA) in 1985.
Clarke was also co-chairman of the Canadian Plastics Pioneers club.
