Speed Nord Amerique Inc. has recently opened a new extrusion plant in Rigaud, QC. The plant, which started operations in April, has three extrusion lines producing mono-filament nylon “whipper snipper” material. The filament is sold to a variety of customers which manufacture or supply to manufacturers of weed-trimming equipment, according to Arnaud Legrand, the company’s general manager.
Legrand says the company has received an order from Asia that will more than double production. The facility will start filling the order in October and will be adding at least three new extrusion lines sometime this summer. The new Speed Nord Amerique facility has 600 sq. m of floor space and is situated on 8000 sq. m of land.
“We have a lot of room for expansion,” said Legrand.
