Macro Engineering has introduced the Simplified Rear Screw Extraction (SRSE) Macroplast extruder. Extracting the screw from the rear can reduce downtime and simplify line startup. It is particularly useful in multi-layer coextrusion lines where it allows various screws to be extracted and cleaned without removing the die assembly.

Toggle machines improved
The newest version of HPM’s 450 ton Universal II toggle clamp machine and a smaller 125 ton unit are now being offered with as many as 25 additional features over previous models. Controls have been improved, and a card rack expansion to 12 slots from nine allows greater flexibility. As well, separate analog controls for core/ejector speed and adjustable pull-in force on the injection unit sled improve molded product quality.

Delcam has launched a free data translation tool for CAD files that includes a STEP data translator and other proprietary data formats. Delcam’s PS-Exchange is downloadable, and offers two advantages over on-line translation: speed and security.
PS-Exhange is stored on the user’s computer, and accessed by Internet Authenticated Desktop Application technology, whereby the user obtains an authorization code from Delcam’s web server. This method eliminates the chance that sensitive information would be intercepted or e-mailed to a wrong address.
