Canadian film equipment manufacturer expanding US presence

Macro Engineering, a global supplier of blown and cast film systems based in Mississaguga, ON, is pursuing business in the United States through an agreement with Merritt Extruder (Hamden, CT). Merritt Extruder will be Macro’s exclusive representative in the US.
Traditionally, Macro’s primary markets have been in the Far East and Europe. The company has experience in barrier and multilayer blown films, and has leading-edge technology for the production of biaxially oriented PVDC film, and casings for sausage and chees packaging. Macro is also known for its custom application engineering in surface and turret winders.
"We believe Merritt’s capabilities and market coverage will make Macro’s film extrusion and web handling technology widely available to U.S. film processors," says Mirek Planeta, president of Macro.
