Mississauga, Ont.-based extrusion systems supplier Macro Engineering and Technology Inc. has announced that it has expanded its production facilities. The new company facility is a neighbouring building to Macro’s main plant in Mississauga.

The company noted that expansion was necessary following the record-breaking sales reported by the company at the beginning of 2008.

Macro explained that air ring production, for example, is up 300 per cent from previous years.

“The main reason for the expansion was to create additional floor space to assemble and test our extrusion lines,” said Macro’s operations manager John Shimmell. “The expansion allowed use to free up space in our main plant for quicker manufacture of our specialty retrofit components, such as dies and air rings, which are also in high demand this year.”
