Wittmann Battenfeld celebrates 40 years with open house
Austria-based injection molding machine, automation and auxiliary equipment manufacturer Wittmann Group celebrated its 40th anniversary with a two-day event in Vienna, including an open house.
Held at the Viennese exhibition centre on June 8-9, 1,650 customers and business partners of the Wittmann Group attended the event.
Dr. Werner Wittmann founded WITTMANN Kunststoffgeräte GmbH in Vienna in 1976 to manufacture flow regulators. On April 1, 2008, Wittmann took over Battenfeld Kunststoffmaschinen Ges.m.b.H. in Kottingbrunn (Lower Austria). The merger formed the Wittmann Group and integrated the complementary product lines – Wittmann auxiliary equipment and injection molding machines from Wittmann Battenfeld.
To kick off the gala event, the director general of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V., Dr. Rüdiger Baunemann, delivered the keynote address entitled “Plastics, Key Driver for Sustainability.”
A live show was followed by product demonstrations and a series of technical presentations about individual product groups and special plastics-processing-related issues. Over the course of the two-day event, visitors were able to take a close look at the Wittmann Group’s full product range, including new technical developments.
Guests were also given the opportunity to tour the company’s production sites in Kottingbrunn, Vienna and Wolkersdorf, and in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary.
