Mauser buys Greif’s Brazil plastic drum and IBC business

In a bid to expand globally, Germany-based industrial packaging manufacturer Mauser Group has acquired the plastic drum and intermediate bulk container (IBC) business of Greif in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Greif is a global supplier of industrial packaging products made from steel, plastic and fibre. The company has more than 200 operating locations.

“We are very pleased with the addition of these plastic drum and IBC customers,” said Ricardo Goldenberg, president and CEO of Mauser Brazil. “We see tremendous opportunity here in Brazil and plan to continue our strategy of growing across all our market segments.”

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, and the transaction is expected to be completed by early June 2015.

Headquartered near Cologne, Germany, Mauser Group has approximately 4,400 employees and consolidated revenue of over US$1.3 billion. The company was founded in 1896.
