The completion of an automated machining complex at Mold-Masters Ltd.’s Georgetown, Ont. facility will add capacity and reduce lead times for hot runner manifolds, says Jonathon Fischer, president.
Eight machines, 53 pallets and 1000 tools make up Mold-Masters’ Mazak Multi-Axis-Machining Centre. It is said to be the largest installation of its kind in North America.
Designed primarily for manifold production, the machining complex operates unattended 24 hours a day, monitored by a CNC pallet delivery system. At full capacity, over 100 manifolds can be loaded at one time.
