Wittmann is introducing the Smart-Removal function on the new upcoming R8 control, designed to optimize part takeout time.
SmartRemoval monitors all the time-relevant processes in parallel, regardless of whether they are connected to the robot or the machine. In collaboration with the machine controller, the software then optimizes the takeout path for the robot to streamline the takeout path and eliminates wasted time and movement. The program calculates when the mold will open, allowing theY-axis to begin moving from the waiting position just before the mold has fully opened.
Savings of up to 0.5 seconds per cycle can be achieved, corresponding to time-savings of about 10 per cent on a total cycle time of five seconds.
