New plug assist materials are available to address common problems encountered with conventional materials in thermoforming.
HYTAC-WT is epoxy syntactic plug assist containing Teflon that will reduce many of the sticking problems associated with conventional epoxy syntactic. The material is said to improve clarity for APET and other clear polymers, while reducing sticking of difficult-to-process polymers such as HDPE.
HYTAC-LP is a two-part epoxy system providing heavy gauge thermoformers with a durable, lightweight, low thermoconductive castable system that improves performance and reduces the cost of large plugs.
