According to Equistar, its new Petrothene Select linear low density polyethylene resins inhibit the onset of melt fracture in blown film compared to other high-performance, hexene-based LLDPE. Using Petrothene Select GA TR311 or GA TR322, processors can either run at higher extrusion rates or use narrower die gaps without the onset of melt fracture.
In addition, Equistar says films from these resins can have improved impact and machine-direction tear properties if narrower die gaps are used.
