A dramatic range of color reflectivity that features as many as four different shades in one product is available with Clariant’s Spectrachrome color system. Created intitially for PET multilayer bottle applications, the color series is suitable for PET, PVC, SAN, polypropylene and polycarbonate.
To create this iridescent effect, Clariant works with processors to identify the desired color and the saturation or loading required. Additionally, because the layer structure is integral in creating the final color, the let-down ratio and layer thickness of the outside lamination and middle virgin layer, in conjunction with a PCR resin layer, must be determined.
