New features are being added to Expoplast, with a view to increasing attendance and adding value for show visitors. The show, which is owned and organized by the Canadian Plastics Industry Association (CPIA), takes place October 27-28 at Place Bonaventure in Montreal.

CPIA is planning a consultant’s corner for Expoplast. Independent consultants with expertise in various plastics processes will be available in a special area of the show for free consultations. This feature was introduced last year at CPIA’s Plast-Ex show in Toronto, and proved popular with show visitors.

Two technical conferences will take place in the afternoons during Expoplast. Speakers will be confirmed shortly.

This will be the fifth show for Expoplast, which takes place every three years. Typical attendance figures are in the 3,000 to 4,000 range. At the last show, 69% of visitors were from Quebec, 23% were from other provinces, 7% were from the US, and 2% were international.

According to official figures from the Quebec industry ministry, the Quebec plastics industry generates an annual $3 billion in revenue and has experienced an average annual growth rate of 7.2% since 1992.

About two-thirds of the booth space for Expoplast has been sold, as of press time. For information about exhibiting, call CPIA at 905-678-7748, and speak to Patricia Ferguson, show coordinator, ext. 281; or Tom Socket, sales, ext. 283.
