Many of these award-winning products from the 2002 Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) demonstrate how plastics can enhance an existing product. In other cases, such as the medical industry, the phrase “Plastics makes it possible” is not far off the mark. What all these products show is that plastic is an oft-reached-for tool in the industrial designers’ toolbox.
