Van Dorn Demag has raised the bar for vertical injection molding machines with the new Praxis Series, which incorporates two-platen clamp technology, a large rotary table and ergonomic design elements.

The Praxis line will include six models ranging from 60 to 380 tons; the first two machines available are 280 ton and 380 ton models.

The company decided the greatest need for new machines was in the “250 ton and higher” sector, says Glenn Frohring, product manager for the Praxis Series. “There is an increased demand for insert molding, over-molding and multi-component molding in many market segments, particularly automotive and consumer. We also found that there is a lack of machines with rotary tables, and a number of solutions in that size range use either older machines or converted horizontal presses.”
