Bayer MaterialScience (BMS) has signed an agreement with Indian firm Malibu Plastica Limited to establish a joint venture that will supply polycarbonate (PC) sheets to the Indian market.

 

Located in the city of Ahmedabad, Malibu Plastica is a producer of PC sheet production. The company currently has capacity to extrude 800 metric tons of sheet per year.

According to BMS, the alliance will enable it to bring more of its products to the Indian market through leveraging Malibu’s production capacities, marketing and sales connections, and distribution channels.

Leverkusen, Germany-based BMS currently operates eight manufacturing sites around the world. They are located in Australia, Belgium, China, Germany, Italy, Korea, Mexico and the U.S.  

 

Subject to the relevant approvals, the new joint venture will be called Bayer Malibu Polymers Private Limited and be headquartered in Ahmedabad.
