Chinese injection molding machine manufacturer Ningbo Haitian Group is entering into a sales, technical and service joint venture with Moscow-based equipment supplier Plastic-Centre in order to strengthen its market position in Russia and the 11 former Soviet republics that make up the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Ningbo Haitian board member Prof. Helmar Franz has been named a board member of the new joint venture company, which is expected to be fully established by the end of 2006.
The role of Plastic-Centre will be to consolidate the former work of different independent agents operating in the Russian market, Ningbo Haitian said.
The move is part of Ningbo Haitian’s effort to gain market leadership in Russia and the CIS; at present, according to the company, they rank third in the region with 140 machines sold in 2005, behind the leader Demag Plastics Group and the second-place Korean supplier LG.
