Valiant Tool & Mold Inc., a Windsor, Ont.-based designer and builder of compression tools and plastic injection molds, has entered into a collaboration agreement with injection and SMC/BMC moldmaker Kyowa Industrial Co. Ltd., of Sanjo City, Japan.
“This arrangement gives Valiant access to all of Kyowa’s innovative technologies, such as in-mold processes, two-shot processes and stack molds,” Guy DiPonio, vice president of Valiant, said. “And what we provide them is a basis of service here in North America, both in the Windsor area and also in our plant in Mansfield, Tex., which is near to where the new San Antonio Toyota truck facility is being built, and where a number of Japanese Tier 1 suppliers are locating. So, we will be supporting (Kyowa) in that area.”
Established in Windsor in 1959, Valiant supplies molds and compression tooling for the automotive and aerospace industries. The company has three facilities in Windsor and its facility in Mansfield, Tex.
Kyowa Industrial, founded in 1963, produces over 1,500 molds per year ranging from small ultra precision molds to large molds in excess of 250 metric tons.
