The purchase is TricorBraun’s first move into the flexible packaging industry.

Taipak Enterprises Ltd., a flexible packaging supplier headquartered in Richmond, B.C., has been acquired by packaging solutions provider TricorBraun for an undisclosed amount.

In a statement, TricorBraun described the purchase as a “true milestone” – the first time in its 100-year history that it has entered the flexible packaging industry. “It’s a move that significantly increases our product offering and capabilities,” Keith Strope, TricorBraun’s executive chairman, said in the statement.

Strope said that Taipak will be renamed Taipak, A TricorBraun Company.  Taipak’s current owners Joey Lin and Charanjit Hayre will continue to manage the business.
