The purchase comes just one week after ProAmpac was bought by investment firm Pritzker Group.

Just a few days after being purchased by an investment firm, flexible packaging provider ProAmpac is buying Vitex Packaging Group.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Headquartered in Suffolk, Virginia, Vitex is a converter and printer of flexible packaging materials. The company was founded in 1954 as a tea packager.

“We are pleased to welcome Vitex to the ProAmpac family,” said ProAmpac CEO Greg Tucker. “We continue to invest in opportunities that deliver an even greater array of quality products, innovation, and outstanding customer service to the marketplace, and continues to solidify ProAmpac as a leader in the flexible packaging industry.”

Vitex will retain its brand name and operate under ProAmpac’s extrusion lamination division.

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, ProAmpac has more than 2,400 employees across 18 manufacturing locations in North America, Europe, and Asia, and reports sales of nearly US$1 billion annually. Last week, the company was acquired by Chicago-based investment firm Pritzker Group for an undisclosed amount.
