The entire rigid films product line of Tottenham, Ont.-based PMC Film Canada Inc. has been bought by Klckner Pentaplast.

“This opportunity complements our product portfolio and is consistent with our growth strategy,” noted Klckner Pentaplast president Michael Tubridy. The company noted that the acquisition includes PMC’s formulations.

Employees at PMC Film Canada were told late last month that the firm would be shutting its doors. The plant, which was established in 1994, employed nearly 50 people.

According to local media reports, employees were given severance packages and told that the operations were being relocated to Virginia.
