Gefran automates pressure sensor, potentiometer product production

Gefran ISI Inc., the North American wing of Gefran Spa, an Italian manufacturer of process sensors, and automation control instrumentation and components, recently completed a substantial production upgrade at its Winchester, Mass. production facility.
The upgrade involved bringing automatic assembly and calibration equipment to the production of its recently redesigned extrusion melt-pressure sensors, and its line of potentiometers.
The new production equipment uses digital electronic technology that enables calibration of the product’s circuity to be done via integrated software and automatic pressure generation. The equipment also increases production capcity.
Mark Caldwell, vice-president of Gefran ISI said the production upgrade will enable the company to better serve its customers.
Gefran’s North American investment is part of a US$4.5 million dollar plan to upgrade its manufacturing facilities worldwide.
